I Have the Keys!

Blog fam! I pray all is well with all of you. I was watching Marriage Bootcamp celebrity edition the other day and the counselors were helping the individuals deal with deep rooted issues from their pasts. The interesting part about this was that each person was wrapped in chains.

The chains represented the deep seeded resentments, hurts and failures that each person has encountered over their life. They walked around all day under the weight of these chains. Their pinned up emotions now had a physical representation. The chains made the simplest tasks a little more difficult to complete. Some of the individuals just sat to ease the burden. Our issues are like these chains. They impede the simplest of tasks. They literally weigh us down. At the end of the night, they gather to confront their issues.

The counselors begin to talk to them and low key minister to the dark places in their lives. At the beginning, they were given a locket with a picture of themselves as a child in it. After they confronted and overcame the issue, they were told to look behind the picture. They had been walking around all day with the key to their freedom! After that, they unlocked the chains and were free. We have the keys to our freedom! The problem we face is the fear of using the keys. Having those difficult conversations can be uncomfortable but it’s necessary for the freedom we so desperately need. My fiancé, Katrena (this is a shout out lol) often says while ministering that we can really be naked and unashamed before God. We can tell him all of our issues and not worry about him telling anyone else. The Bible says in Hebrews 12:1,

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

We have seen so many people before us overcome various issues so now it It up to us to let go of the things that are weighting us down. There is so much more ahead of us in this life. Today, I ask you to take some time and reflect. Uncover your issues and take them to the problem solver. God I thank you for the revelation I received. I ask that you come in and reveal to us the areas we need to work on and the things we need to let go of. We realize that you cannot heal what we hide so today we give it all to you. In Jesus’ name, amen! Be blessed peeps!
